Fourteen Loras Language & Literature (English or Spanish) majors had scholarly and/or creative work accepted for presentation at the fourth annual Streamlines Undergraduate Conference held at Clarke University.  The annual event is co-hosted by the three Language and Literature/English Departments of Loras College, Clarke University, and the University of Dubuque, and the location of the conference circulates among the three institutions.

Special thanks to Dr. Breyan Strickler, who was Loras’ representative to the planning committee.

In addition to student-presenters from Loras, Clarke, and the University of Dubuque, the following institutions were represented at the conference:  Briar Cliff University, Marian University, Luther College, Ripon College, St. Catherine University, Trinity Christian College, and Waldorf College,

In conjunction with Streamlines this year, there is also a viewing of the film El Norte the night before the conference.  El Norte was co-written by Arturo Arias, who was also the keynote speaker for the conference,. As Dr. Strickler stated, “The success of the past three years has created an opportunity for us to have a world-renowned keynote speaker this year.”
