The Dubuque community is invited to attend this free, public conversation on Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine is a sovereign, independent democracy, a significant part of Europe’s security architecture, and the center for international debate on the rights of self-determination and self-defense.

Join Mr. Alexander Kuzma, Chief Development Officer for the Ukrainian Catholic University Foundation (UCUF), as he engages the Dubuque community on issues of Ukrainian history, Just War and self-defense, post-conflict reconciliation, and lessons which might apply to an increasingly socially and politically divided America.

In conversation with Mr. Kuzma are Loras College professors Dr. David Cochran, Professor of Politics, Dr. Lisa Garoutte, Professor of Sociology, and Dr. Heleana Theixos, Professor of Philosophy and Andrew P. Studdert, Endowed Chair of Ethics & Crisis Leadership. The conversation will address theological, political, and moral issues of self-defense, reconciliation in post-atrocity communities, and potential socio-political lessons for Americans. Guests are welcome to join the conversation.
