| NewsTuesday, August 31, 2010 Celebrating 100 Years of Loras PlayersThe Loras Players will celebrate their 100th anniversary during the 2010-11 academic year, making them the oldest continuous theatre group west of the Mississippi. Friday, August 27, 2010 Loras College Ranked in Top 30 Nationally for Service Loras College received a national ranking of 13th in the baccalaureate category among U.S. colleges and universities by Washington Monthly. The rankings were broken down by category, including baccalaureate colleges, in which Loras ranked 13th among the Top 30 nationally. Thursday, August 26, 2010 Loras Gears Up for Academic YearWith an increase in enrollment and diversity, this year's first-year class will begin Launch into Loras on August 26. All of the first-year students participate in this 3-day intensive orientation program before the start of the fall semester. The first-year students are given the opportunity to get acclimated to campus, engage in nightly social activities, discuss a common reading, and participate in teambuilding, service projects, and large and small group discussions. Since its inception in 2004, Launch into Loras has grown from 50 students to approximately 400 students.
Tuesday, August 17, 2010 Loras College Again Ranked 11th in “Best Colleges”Loras College has maintained its highest ranking ever at the 11th spot in the Top Tier among Best Midwest Regional Colleges in the 2011 edition of “Best Colleges” by U.S. News Media Group. In addition, Loras College was called out among the top 20 of all 319 Regional Colleges for highest graduation rate.

 Tuesday, August 03, 2010 Loras Acquires Portion of Cox StreetLoras College is making progress with development plans to improve the institution. The Dubuque City Council recently agreed to allow Loras to purchase a portion of Cox Street from the City for $50,000.
 Wednesday, June 02, 2010 Loras Receives 10 Year Accreditation Loras College has been officially notified of its reaccreditation for another 10 years by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), after an extensive self-study by internal committees, a lengthy report on committee findings and a rigorous, thorough review by a team of external evaluators from similar higher education institutions.
