About the Staff

After graduating from Loras with a degree in media studies, Bobbi entered the world of broadcast journalism and spent the next 14 years reporting and anchoring for an NBC affiliate. In 2003, she returned to campus as a Senior Development Officer and then was tapped as the Executive Director of Alumni and Communications in 2005.

Growing and engaging alumni have been an exciting challenge. Loras College Duhawks are a loyal group and reconnecting them in ways where they have an impact on today's students is something Bobbi finds very rewarding.

Overseeing strategic planning and working on new initiatives for alumni programming are just part of Bobbi's responsibilities. In addition, she works with the members of the National Alumni Board, and alumni involved with the Loras Networks of Dubuque, Chicago, Waterloo/Cedar Falls and Rockford as they strive to raise scholarships for area students while supporting the initiatives of the College.

On campus, Bobbi serves on the Catholic Identity and Strategic Planning committees; off campus she volunteers her time as a board member of the Red Cross of the Tri-States Chapter and Opening Doors, a transitional and emergency shelter for homeless women and children.

After graduating from Loras with a degree in social work, Michaela moved to Chicago to participate in a year-long volunteer program that focused on faith, simple living, social justice, stewardship and community. During that year, Michaela served as the Program & Events Coordinator for an educational enrichment program for inner city youth.

Following her volunteer-year, Michaela continued living in Chicago and spent the next year and a half working as the Associate Director of Development for a non-profit focused on education and faith formation for poor and orphaned youth in West Africa.

Michaela was eager to come back to Loras and accepted a position in the Alumni Office as Alumni Coordinator. Michaela will work with the alumni team to ensure organization and preparation for all alumni events. Michaela feels very lucky to be back on the vibrant Loras College campus and is excited to work with fellow Duhawks by engaging them in ways that give back to the entire Loras community.
